Looking for the Devlin line beginning with Francis Devlin born in 1831 in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland who subsequently moved to Paisley, Renfrewshire Scotland and married Elizabeth McLaughlin, born in Ayrshire, Scotland in 1832--daughter of Thomas McLaughlin who was born in Fermanagh, Ireland in 1803. Thomas was married to Mary Ann Scott, also born in Fermanagh, 1816.

Francis and Elizabeth gave birth to my great grandfather Francis in 1858 who immigrated to the States with brothers Henry and Thomas in 1881. Sister Margaret joined them in 1901. The brothers worked in the coal mines in Macoupin, Illinois initially. 2 brothers, Henry and Thomas later moved to North Dakota. My great grandfather Francis remained in Illinois--his son (my grandfather) Thomas Bernard Devlin, Sr, married Elizabeth Trojcak.

Looking for the history of the family in Scotland and Ireland as well as descendants from this line.

Thanks,
Kathleen Devlin Monks
