The Renfrew County Devlins, James and Ruth (Knight)Devlin most likely were farmers. They came to North Dakota in the early 1880's. James' father, James (born 1791)was from Ireland, and with his wife (Martha Freeland Devlin) settled in Beckwith, Lanark County, and he was a weaver. I do hope you will see this very belated reply!!
