My Dettman family came from Swiecie kries, near Grudziadz, in what was West Prussian area of Poland. The name there was spelled with an 'i' or 'y', and sometimes with only one 't', or with two 'n's. He was 17 when immigrated in 1872, alone. He went to Chicago where he married and had lots of kids. Am looking for decendents and ancestors of his. Lots with his name were in that area in 18th and 19th centuries. |
