Clayton Tribune, (Rabun Co. GA) Thursday, April 9, 1936, Page 1: “Mrs. Martha L. Crawford died at her home at Tiger last Monday night after a long illness. She was 75 years of age and was the widow of James M. Crawford, who died 18 years ago. At an early age she united with the Baptist Church of Clayton. The deceased leaves six children, three sons; M.L., James and Russell and three daughter; Misses Altha, Tanner and Carrie, and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral was conducted by Rev. J.W. Farmer from the Baptist Church and burial in the local cemetery with R.E. Cannon, undertaker.”
