Hello - Our branch of the DePasquale family is planning a reunion and although I haven't had much success in finding many links to our past before, I'm once again making an attempt. What I know is that my grandfather was named Giuseppe DiPasquale and he was born, I think, in either 1885 or 1886. I know he had one older brother, Dominic, but I don't know for sure whether there were any other children. I don't know his father or mother's (my great-grandparents) first names, but I think his mothers maiden name was Mangiacapra. He was from the Naples area, in the Province of Caserta in a village called Cesa. He married my grandmother, Giustina Marina, who was from the same place. She was born around 1896. I don't know too much about my grandmother's family. I think her mother's name was Vincenza but I'm not sure. I've heard that she had a brother who died and so her parents adopted another little boy but I don't know any other names. Soon after marrying, my grandfather came to the USA with his brother Dominic(?) and, again, I think he arrived in New York - where they stayed for a short time with either friends or relatives who were already living here. They then travelled to Providence, Rhode Island where they both lived until their deaths. My grandfather sent for my grandmother to come to Providence shortly after he arrived. I don't know when Dominic died, but my grandfather, Giuseppe, died in 1966. My grandmother died in 1986. Also, once they were in the US, he was known as Joseph and the spelling of the name changed to DE Pasquale instead of DI Pasquale. My grandfather was a master tile setter and his brother was a peddler. My grandmother didn't work but she was an excellent cook and seamstress. They had 11 children starting with the first in 1915: 7 girls and 4 boys: Esperanza (Esther), Ida (my mother), Helen, Iolanda (Viola), Lilvia (Lillian), Carmine Alleghieri (Zeke), Dorothia Madelena (Dorothy), Vincent, Maria Santina (Mary), Joseph and William. I also know that my grandfather's brother, Dominic was married twice and I think some of his children were Carl, Emilio, and Beverly. Also, 2 of his grandchildren were Robert and William. If any of this rings a bell with anyone, I would love to hear from you!
