My name is Kate Maynard and I am the administrator/owner of Gilliland Trails, a Gilliland family history and genealogy site. I saw your excellent site for the Delawder family, including the records furnished by Sandy Holderby regarding the Aldridge family line (including Lucinda Aldridge-Delawder). As I am of the same Gilliland line that ties into the Duduit/Gilliland tree in Lawrence County, Ohio, I do have information on the these early Gillilands and would be happy to share.
I'd also like to note that Agnes Duduit was possibly not born in Alexandria, VIRGINIA but Alexandria, OHIO -- which was the original name of Portsmouth, OH, when the settlement was still located on the west side of the conjunction of the Ohio and Scioto rivers. Terrible and frequent flooding in the early,low-lying settlement doomed Alexandria and those settlers moved to the east side of the Scioto, hence Portsmouth was born. Few people outside of Portsmouth (where I am originally from) know this bit of obscure history.
