Middletown. June 29 - (Special)
Axel G. Blomberg, 52, of Nooks
Road, Cromwell, widely known rose
specialist and judge at flower
shows in New York and Boston, died
at his home, Tuesday afternoon
from a heart ailment. He was born
in Portland and at the age of 12
entered the employ of the A. N.
Pierson Company where he worked
all his life except for two years
spent in Canada.
During the past two years he has
been superintendent of all the rose
growing of the company and prior
to that he was foreman of the Hill
plant of the company. He was also
a specialist in chrysanthemums and
He leaves his wife, Marie (Miel-
lez) Blomberg; his mother, Mrs
Emma Blomberg; three brothers, C.
William, Hjalmar Blomberg of
Cromwell; and Arthur Blomberg of
Middletown; and one sister, Mrs
Jennie Muircroft. The funeral will
be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the
Southmayd-Doolittle funeral home
with Rev. Eugene Bushong of
Wethersfield officiating. Burial will
be in White Church Cemetery,
West Springfield.

PORTLAND (Special)
Arthur H. Blomberg, 62, of 81 East Main St., yard foreman for the Bordon Comapany in Middletown for 21 years, died at Crescent Street Hospital Thursday after a long illness. He was born in Cromwell, son of Charles and Emma Gustafson Blomberg and resided here the past eight years.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Margaret O'Connell Blomberg; a son, Arthur W. Blomberg of Vernon, a parole officer for the Conn. Board of Parole; one daughter, Mrs. Eugene Russo of Middletown; two brothers, C. William Blomberg and Hjalmer Blomberg of Cromwell; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at the Coughlin Funeral Home, 491 High St., Middletown, Saturday at 8:15 a.m. and at St. Mary's Church here at 9. Burial will be in old St. John's Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

MIDDLETOWN - C. William Blomberg, 80, of 352 Newfield St., formerly of Cromwell, died Saturday in Middlesex Memorial Hospital. He was born in Cromwell and lived there all his life before moving to Middletown a month ago. He retired three years ago as a foreman with A. N. Pearson Inc. of Cromwell after serving 62 years. He was a member of Andre Lodge 13, Vasa Order of America. He leaves his wife, Agnes Anderson Blomberg; a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Ecker of Cromwell; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The funeral is Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. There are no calling hours.
