Hello. Have you seen the complete Rev. War pension file of Kitteridge Davis? I can email it to you if you haven't. In his own words he testified that he was born in Mansfield, Connectciut.

"Revolutionary claim, under an Act of Congress, Passed June 7th, 1832, State of Vermont, Franklin County Probate Court, August 1st, 1832. Personally appeared in open Court, being the Probate Court for the County of Franklin and a Court of Record for said County and State of Vermont , Kitteridge Davis, aged 73 years, resident in Enosburgh in said County, who being duly sworn according to law, doth, on his oath, make the following declaration .... He was born in Mansfield, State of Connecticut ( a record of his age he thinks may be found now in Mansfield at summons) .... "

Also, his brother Daniel Davis gave testimony for the pension application that he and Kitteridge were residing with their family in Connecticut in 1776 when Kitteridge first enlisted.

In the pension file it shows that sometime during the war Kitteridge became a resident of Massachusetts and enlisted again from that Satate but I couldn't see anywhere in the sworn testimony anything other than Kitteridge's own statement that he was, "born in Mansfield, Connecticut".
