I read somewhere that at one time, Litchfield County ran over into the Wymoming Valley which later became part of the State of Pennsylvania.
Was there ever a map drawn at that time showed this area before Pennsylvania became a state in 1787?
My ancestor, Horace Preston, was born in about 1780 in "Litchfield County, CT". Because we have not found him in the current Litchfield County, I am wondering if maybe he was born in the "extended area" before Pennsylvania became a state.
Can someone please help me with this question?
