Nope, not related in any way to this family. It just looked like an interesting puzzle. While at my genealogy library this week, I did poke through a few records. From the Woodbury Vital Records [neighboring town to Bethlehem] I found a marriage record for Giles Bartow, married to Fallura Wheeler, both of Bethlehem Sept 8, 1841 by S.R. Andrew. A footnote shows that in Cothren's History of Woodbury, 1854, Bartow was spelled as Barton.
I also found what appeared to be the basic Barto family in Connecticut, in the Norwalk [Fairfield County] vital records. Reuben and Judah Barto had seven children born in the 1780s and 1790s, including a Jonah and a Stephen, but the ages don't seem to match well with the Bethlehem census records for the Jonah and Stephen that I found there. In the Norwalk records, Jonah was born 9 May 1786 and Stephen was born 1 Apr 1793, making Jonah older than Stephen which is not consistent with the census ages in 1820.
I have no knowledge of the William R. and Benjamin you mention.
