Linda,
Found the following records on this family:

1850 census, Stamford Connecticut:

John Blanchard, age 60,laborer, born NY
Polly, age 50, born NY
John H. age 22, born NY

1860 census, Stamford Connecticut:

Benjamin N. Lyon, age 38, carriage manufacturer, born CT
Louisa, age 35, born CT
Fannie, age 5, born CT
Emma, age 3, born CT
George W. age 13, born CT
Caroline Whitney, age 6, born CT

1870 census, Stamford Connecticut:

Benjamin Lyon, age 46, carriage painter, born CT
Louisa, age 43 born CT
George, age 23 born CT
Fanny, age 15 born CT
Benjamin, age 8 born CT
Caroline Whitney, age 16
John H. Blanchard, age 41, born CT

The only real conflict seems to be the birthplace of John H. Blanchard. I would tend to believe his Parents in the 1850 census, rather than Benjamin or Louisa in the 1870 census. I was not able to locate John H. in the 1860 census.

1880 census, Stamford Connecticut:

Benjamin N. Lyon, age 54, carriage painter, born CT, father NY, mother CT
Louisa, age 52, born CT, both parents CT
Emma L. age 22
Benjamin E. age 18

Hope this adds to your information.
