The following is a list of burials in St. Peters Cemetery, Jersey City, NJ, plot 40 South D, originally purchased by John Carmody. Listings are per a letter from the cemetery:

Mary Ann Donahue, 20 yrs., bur. 14 Aug 188(?)
Bridget Carmody, 10 mos., bur. 1 Sep 1863
John Carmody, 6 days, bur. 27 Jan 1867
Patrick Carmody, 6 mos., bur. 20 Nov 1872
Hanora Carmody, 42 yrs., bur. 3 Jul 1880
Thomas Carmody, 22 yrs., bur. 26 Mar 1891
Bridget Cruise, 42 yrs., bur. 27 Oct 1894
Patrick Kruise, 66 yrs., bur. 24 Jan 1900
Maud L. Cruise, 26 yrs., bur. 21 Aug 1909
John Cruise, 35 yrs., bur. 19 Jan 1916

My interest is in the Cruise family and whether it had marriage ties to the Carmody family. Maud L. Cruise was the daughter of Alexander and Margaret Cruise whose places of residence over the years included Elizabeth, Jersey City and possibly Orange. Additionally, the 1910 census of Lambertville, Hunterdon Cty, NJ, lists a John J. Cruise family living next door to a Carmody family headed by Bridget Carmody, a 59 year old widow living with grown children---Molly, 28, Thomas, 26, Joseph, 24, John, 21 and Rose, 18. Whether this juxtaposition of Cruise and Carmody families is coincidental or additional evidence of ties between the two families I do not know. If anyone can shed light on this matter, I would appreciate a posted response or e-mail. Thanks. Jim
