Henrietta was born abt. 1810, place unknown. She married John Andrews and they had a son James Crowther Andrews, b 1835, Canada West (Now Lower Ontario). James Crowther Andrews sailed from New York in Dec 1854 on the Nimrod and arrived Port Phillip (Melbourne, Australia), 07-Mar-1855. As Canada West at the time was a very poor area, the family must have been quite well off for James Crowther Andrews to afford the passage to Australia. He also must have had substantial capitol when he arrived, as he started as a blacksmith in the goldfields and branched out into slaughter yards and butchering as well as Hotels as some of the vast array of enterprising ventures he undertook. Have been at a standstill with this branch for over 20 years and would appreciate any help. |
