Hi Kate I was looking for the name Edwards (with final s) as a first name connected with Crossley, ex-Yorkshire, Lancashire or Northamptonshire, UK, and came across a listing on Ancestry.co.uk in the Washington State Birth Index 1907-1919 for a Frank Crossley Edwards and his mother Jemrina Crossley. I'm pretty certain that should be Jemima. It's been garbled in another entry too. 1900 USA census gives Edward W Crossley, bn c 1857, location ($ needed to view), living at Licking, Ohio, married to Mary. 1910 Ohio Census Miracode Index gives Edward W Crossley, bn c1858 living in Licking, Newark City, Ohio. 1930 USA census gives Edward W Crossley bn c1893 (later generation) living in Licking, Ohio. This may be useless, but you never know - the Ohio link may present a clue for you to follow. All good wishes, Christina |
