June 8, 1772 - Children Elias (age 11 on May 23, last) and Alice (age 8 on this coming June 14). Petition by their uncle Giles Craven who is appointed guardian. Children Hannah, Rachel and Edith, over 14, petition for Guardians. James Paul and James Dungan appointed. Elizabeth (age 24, wife of Joseph Hart of Warminster, husbanman), Hannah and Rachel (twins, age 18), Edith (age 15), Elias (age 11) [ only six listed]. Owned 170 acres.


Southampton Baptist Church Records:

Nathan Gilbert and Elizabeth Scout (Widdow) both of Warminister township, Bucks County were married November 18th 1772 by the Revd. William VanHorn.

Robert Shirley of *Bartley Co., VA who married Rachel Gilbert daughter of Nathan Gilbert, late of Bartley Co. who will be due upon death of her grandmother Elizabeth Gilbert which is in the hands of Joseph Hart in Bucks Co., acknowledges payment of estate by Rachel's guardian Andrew Long. Dec. 24 1792

* There is no Bartley Co., VA. I suspect this may have been mis-transcribed and could have been Berkeley Co., VA (now WV_.)
