Looking for anyone who has information on SARAH MARILDA COWAN b. abt 1850 Marion Co., TN - d. after 1883 TX, probably Denton or Montague Co.) - youngest daughter of SAMUEL C. COWAN (20 Feb 1805 TN - 12 Dec 1885 Whitwell, Marion Co., TN) and SARAH HOWARD (28 FEb 1806 TN - 14 Jan 1875 Whitwell, Marion Co., TN). SARAH MARILDA married abt 1874 in Marion Co., TN to GEORGE WHITMAN PHILLIPS (2 Jul 1849 Walker Co., GA - 3 Feb 1926 Yeager, Hughes Co., OK). They are in Tarrant Co., TX in 1882; Roanoke, Denton Co., TX, in 1885 then he is in Nocona, Montague Co., TX in 1895. I have two letters written by G. W. - one written from each place. GEORGE WHITMAN PHILLIPS was married twice, maybe three times. SARAH and G. W. had at least two children: ALBERT SPENCER PHILLIPS, b. 14 Jul 1875 Marion Co., TN - d. 7 Oct 1958 Wichita Falls, Wichita Co., TX AND PEARL M. PHILLIPS, b. 11 Feb 1882 Tarrant Co., TX - d. 15 Nov 1974 Wichita Falls, Wichita Co., TX. Anyone interested, please contact me.
