My line goes from Frances Cookson b. 1871 Withington Workhouse Manchester - illegitimate daughter of Elizabeth Cookson (spinster) b. 1843 Hartford, Cheshire daughter of Samuel Cookson (chr.1 Dec 1811 Tarvin, Cheshire) & Mary Ann Garner (b.1817 m.1838 St John Chester) son of William Cookson of Darnhall (but born Clotton)(b.ca 1787 chr. 25 Mar 1788 Tarvin d. 23 Nov 1858) & Ann Beckett (chr. 29 Jun 1794 Astbury m.03 Jul 1809 d. 9 Oct 1869) both buried at Tarvin St Andrew. They had 15 children that I know of from baptism index, wills and graves: Elizabeth chr. 3 Dec1809 @ Tarvin St Andrew (TSA) Samuel chr.1 Dec 1811 @ TSA Ann chr. 28 Nov 1813 @TSA James chr.10 Mar 1816 @ TSA William chr. 3 May 1818 @TSA Sarah chr. 17 Sep 1820 @ TSA Joseph chr 13 Oct 1822@ TSA John chr Oct 17 1824 @ TSA Thomas chr. 22 Oct 1826 @TSA Charles chr. 22 Jun 1828 @ TSA George b. Darnhall Frank " Henry " Hannah " Mary d. 30 Sep 1831 7 mths old son of James Cookson James Cookson (of Clotton) (b. ca1756 d 6 Sept 1833 aged 77 buried TSA) & Sarah Walker (b. ca 1757 m. 10 Jan 1786 Tarporley, Cheshire, d. 6 May 1826 aged 69 buried TSA) I know of 5 sons of James and Sarah: John b.1785 William b 1787 James chr. 25 Jan 1790 @ TSA Joseph chr 5 Jan 1792 @ TSA Samuel chr 2 Apr 1793 Hope this helps
