Christine, Thanks for the link to comeaunet. org. It was certainly helpful. I think that there are a few people on this forum that may be long, long, long lost cousins of mine!!!!! My grandmother, Adele Comeau, was born in Digby in 1895. Adele’s mother was Marie-Marguerite Comeau (born 1867), Dedier and Elizabeth’s daughter. Adele would often talk about “Jerome” the legless man found on the shore of Baie Sainte-Marie, and how her grandparents, Dedier and Elizabeth, took care of him. Adele moved to the States in about 1916. She married, had 11 children, and lived in Pennsylvania until her death in 1963. She was one of eight children: Marie Anne Comeau Jeddry (born 1888), Eva Comeau (born 1891), Maggie May Comeau (born 1893), Lizzie Comeau Allen (born 1899), Adolphe Comeau (born 1901), Louise Comeau Spatz (born 1905-died 1976), and Lucie Comeau McDermond (born 1907). I believe that they all stayed in NS except for Louise who also came to the States. My mother would certainly like to know what happened to these relatives. If anyone could help. Thanks.
