I am trying to place Lydia Colburn, b. 1780-90 in CT. She md. Sargent Blaisdell after 1814 and had at least three children, from one of whom I'm descended. Her state of birth and approximate date is from census records in Genesee Co., NY to which Sargent's family removed. I have found only a handful of Colburn, Colebourne, Coburn, etc. listings in the 1790 Census, with two large clusters in Tolland and Windham Cos., CT. I wonder if you have anything on these two clusters and know whether there are any Lydias among them who would have been born ca.1780-90 (and aren't then married off to someone -- unless, of course, it's Sargent Blaisdell!).

Her ancestry has been a dead end for me for a while and I am just now picking it up again. Would welcome any advice on CT Colburns you could share, as well as anything more specifically on the CT Colburn (and variant spellings) families into which she might fit.

Best regards,
Michael
