The Coffee Mystery.
Following his return from Collin Co. Tx in late 1850's thru 1860's William E. Coffey returned to Johnson Co. AR where he married his second wife, Rosanna Hammond(s) Hartley in 1870.
The 1880 Logan Co. AR Census shows an E. Coffey and O or D. Coffey as parents to Riley age 16, James age 8 and the Hartley Stepchildren of Rosanna, Sarah Jane and J. also in the house is a Snider as a bdr.
I have never been able to make the initial names fit William E. or Rosanna. Now I learn that:
Guardianship was assumed for William J. and Sarah J. Hartley by W. W. Floyd
on August 30, 1871 and then by Eli C. Ragon (Rogers?) on June 27, 1873.
I do not know who these people are. My major focus is on James age 8, therefore b. 1872 and Riley 16. If anyone can shed light on this matter it would be greatly appreciated.
I find in 1850 DeKalb Co. TN in the household of William T. Floyd are Ann Coffey 70, Francis 13, William. Martha G. Floyd may be a Coffey and Ann her mother.
