According to articles which appeared in Coffey Cousins' Clearinghouse newsletters of Sep and Dec, 1990 as well as March, 1991, Peyton Joshua Coffee was born 1879; wife was Virginia Estelle Gilmer, born 1800, died 1876. Peyton was son of John T. (1868-1973) and Nora Kate Whaley (1874-1901). John T. was son of Joshua "Doss" (1839-1915) and Mary Blanton (1840-1901). "Doss" was son of Joshua (d1881) and Delilah Conger. Joshua was son of Joseph and Mary Buckmark/Buckmaster Coffee. Joseph was brother of Gen. John Coffee from Prince Edward Co., VA.
