I am looking for family of a James Coffee born November 6, 1873. He was killed in a coal mine accident on January 22, 1895.Belle Coffee, widow of James Coffee, filed suit against the Sturgis Coal and Coke Company seeking $15,000 in damages after her husband was killed in the blast. She later settled out of court. She was pregnant with their first child when he was killed. She probably remarried but at the time they were in and around Sturgis, Kentucky. If anyone feels like they might have some info would like to hear from you.
