Ahhh Yes i think i have spoken to Sue before on email through Ancestry, some time ago.
I remember hearing about another set of court records as well, although i actually live in the UK now. I havent been back to Neosho since Christmas 2009/2010. i spent every night of the entire 3 weeks copying paperwork my grandad Charley Barker had.
Yes i had seen the slave schedule regarding M F Crouch working for Barker in California. But in 1850 George (Marthas husband) had already died. So is that George Barker (born 1930 to George and Leah Ward?)
As you have stated there are just too many possibilities as to who or where Martha came from- i dont suppose we will ever TRULY know the answer. It seems though many want to believe she was the sister of Susan, which then seems to ring in why they were all so close even into the 1900's. You would think with the court records though there would have been some bad blood between M F Crouch and Martha though!
