I am Andrew Barker's 2nd Great Grand niece.
I have gathered info from my Grandmother, census, Slave index, Pioneers of Six Bull and court records and a cousin Sue who has info listed on this site.
I would trust the court records you mentioned. With that we do know that Martha Barker had been married to Nathaniel W. Coffee. The intermarried was only a fancy legaL way of saying married to George Barker.
From the slave index we know that M.F. CROUCH was an employee of George Barker who was in California. I think 1850.
I once found a line in a book in Neosho library Newton co. Mo from a court record that came before the one you mentioned. In it it said that Martha Barker was the former widow JAMES, M.F. Crouch was her brother and was in charge of the estate of Geroge Barker her Husband who had passed.
Does that mean M.F. Crouch was in fact her Brother by blood or by marriage or was Martha a relationship when he was ophaned and living with Mrs Nowlin?
I had also read that Martha was a Jouett / Jewett and as you know Susann A Jewett was married to M.F. Crouch so she could infact be a sister Inlaw.
In one of the census I found Granville Coffee is living with Martha, Andrew, Thomas (mine) and a stepdaughter of Martha's from George Barker's first marriage.
When we look at the names of Andrews children we find the same names ie: Granville, Harris, or Harrison, Milliner, etc. these may have been often used names for the time or family names.
