In re: Stu Jones and Mike O'Hair. Hey, Guys, I come from out in left field...I am related to the Gilmores in Ellis Co; my grandfather (J.J. Gilmore was born in Maypearl, as well as my father.)The Jane Gilmore marriage to William McGuire Claunch is the daughter of John Parks Gilmore, and the sister to Charles C. Gilmore (my g-gf): to keep from confusing you: descendancy: James Gilmore from County Down, Province of Ulster; Ireland; his son Joseph Gilmore; his son John Parks Gilmore; his son (a bunch, about 12 kids) Charles C; his son John James, my father, David Oliver, and yours truly. Although I have been doing my family history for over 40 years, I have known very little of the Claunch marriage. Iknew that it was there but never tried to tackle the problem since I have spent many leads over the years trying to find the original Cherokee family ancestor who is not registered on any roll. I have an idea that they are part of the "dragging canoe rebellion and secessionists"! So hoping that I can correspond with you guys on the Claunch family history. I would most certainly appreciate the info and the help, and in return any information that I have will be gladly to you. best wishes. Leonard |
