"Unknown" burial place as per Michael Higgins post may not mean unknown to everyone.
It's about 100% the steamer St. Louis was the USS St. Louis (although officially renamed the Baron De Kalb in late 1862 the old name is sill found in 1863).
The chances of two steamers St. Louis at Yazoo Pass are slim to none.
She was a 500 + ton ironclad (in rough terms a battleship). So: (1) He was aboard because he was sick; and (2) It was not a vessel that would just stop anyplace for a burial.
Come up with a place and try local histories.
