Gary, I came across records for 8 Rochon in the Union service. 5 were african-americans. Of the white soldiers, a William H. was from CT, a Louis from IL, and John in the regular army. None from NY.
Found 375 Barney in Yank service. The one Blase with the ME 15th Infantry, Co.A. Enlisted with the conflict almost over, he was discharged with disability on 6-26-65.
You indicate he received a pension. That pension record should have info detailing which regiment and company he was assigned to. I don't have pension records, but some on this Forum do. Try sending a request for specific info on Blase's pension record. Good luck.
