I am looking for information relating to the life and death of GEORGE E. CURTIS, brother of Willim A. Curtis, born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia on October 2, 1841, who was living in number 32 Stroudsburg, Monroe, Pennsylvania in 1850, enlisted at age 18 at Hacketstown, New Jersey on August 3, 1861 into New York 57 Infantry during the American Civil War. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal on September 15, 1861 and reenlisted on December 26, 1863. He survived and was finally mustered out as a Corporal at Hall’s Hill, Virginia on July 17, 1865. I have no record after that date. I need to know when he died, where nd was buried. Any information on him after 1865 is really needed. Any assistance relating to birth, life, family death and burial will be appreciated. jamesmgray@bigpond.com |
