My grandfather Judah Fein-Feldman and grandmother Clara (Schwartz) Feldman lived in Odessa, left during Czarist upheavals and went to Harbin Manchuria where my mother, Pauline Feldman was born on May 11, 1909. Eventually they emigrated to San Francisco via Angel Island on a Maru? ship about 1918-20's ? Grandfather ( I think?) was born in Bialostok, Poland and grandmother somewhere in Roumania. They lived in Odessa where my aunt Rosa went to medical school briefly before they had to leave Russia, uncle Julia staying behind and joined Communist Party under unknown name. Pauline sibs were my uncles David and Julia, aunts Berta, Rosalie. Pauline (Pesala nickname) married Rupert Peter Anthony Pedrin (converted to Judaism and added Avrum) in 1935or 6.
