Dave, I have been trying to establish who the parents are of Catharine Cheesman born 20 April 1793 in(South Amboy?) NJ and her sister, ElizabethCheesman born 6 October 1799 in (South Amboy?)NJ and died 20 Jan 1875 in Caroline, Tompkins, NY. Where can I look for these sisters and their parents in New Jersey? Do you have any information? Trenton Achives is where I've looked. It has been stated that Ezekiel Cheesman and wife, Athaliah Cheesman are their parents but I've been unsuccessful in my effort to prove it. What I can tell you is that Catharine Cheesman married Joseph Brearley born in Maidenhead, NJ now Lawrenceville, New Jersey. His mother, Lydia Colburn Brearley of NJ as a widow married widower and Revolutionary War Veteran, Thomas Hamilton. The son of Thomas and Lydia Colburn Brearley Hamilton is Andrew Hamilton who married Elizabeth Cheesman. Catharine who is Elizabeth's sister married Joseph Brearley who is Lydia Colburn Brearley's son by her first husband, Joseph Brearley, Sr. Thomas Hamilton was Lydia Colburn's second husband. Andrew is a half brother to Joseph Brearley, Jr. Lydia Colburn was their Mother. Any help you can give me is appreciated. BJSPrince@carolina.rr.com
