Israel Chandler was born and died in Newberry SC. He is buried in the Quaker Cemetery there, so don't think he was disowned by the Quakers as has been stated on this forum. Newberry South Carolina in Will Book L. Israel Chandler, Sr. pages 403 through page 408, His son, Capt. Isreal Chandler and Drayton Nance are named as administrators, 22 August 1829. States that he was buried in Quaker Cemetery John Edmondson, J. W. Summers, Benjamin Neel, Benjamin Gregory as appraisers. Some of the buyers at the estate sale were Israel, Lydia and Thomas Chandler. Israel Chandler is listed as born 25 Mar 1770 and died 13 Mar. 1829. His widow, Lydia. This record names his children and who they married if married. Several of the children were living in TN at the time of his death.
