Ben,

Do you know if anyone has researched the 1850 & 1860 census records of GW Chamness or any of his siblings? Those records would list birthplaces.

I can tell you that Susan Chamness Bullard's census records are inconsistent: The 1850 census shows her birthplace as AL, while the 1860 census shows her birthplace as TN. I don't know where her marriage to Nathan Bullard took place. I was just curious about what the census records show as birthplaces for her siblings. That might narrow things down a bit in the search for their parents.

Also, I've wondered if the siblings might have grown up in a household besides that of their biological parents. I have a related line that includes 3 consecutive generations of children who lost one or both parents and were placed under the guardianship of someone else. If we could narrow down the geographical area where the Chamness children grew up, court records might hold some answers.
