Maurice, As it happens, my husband has gotten very serious about finding Thomas. He's discovered there are no LDS records that "fit" the proper dates either this side or over the pond. He has however, found several families in Dorset, Somerset and Devon that have dead ends in finding published or on line records. There are also some family members whose details have simply been left out because that family were interested in tracing a different branch. So, in belief that Thomas came from that part of the UK (he has pretty good evidence but no proof as yet) we are traveling to the UK to have a look at records which are not available on line, or in libraries or through the LDS. Fortunately it allows us to visit some of his family (alive) as well. I hope we can report back in November that we have some interesting news. Cheers, Chloe Watson (My mother is a Chaffee)
