Hi Terry - Thanks for your nice message. I tried to reply several days ago, but this website's server has been down. Oddly, I only stumbled across it when looking for my great grandfather George Chaffee's record of public service in Vermont on Google.com. I was very surprised to see a query about Suzy. I am Suzy Chaffee's second cousin. We were both born in Rutland Vermont, although I don't really know her, as she is much older than I am - she was friendly with my older sister. Our fathers were first cousins, and our grandmothers, Alice and Charlotte Chaffee, were sisters. I do have quite a bit of information on our branch of the Chaffee family. I don't know which Thomas you're looking for, but there's a Thomas Chaffee who married Hannah Reed, who had a son Thomas, born 1786, who married Abigail Knowlton in Ashford, Connecticut. I actually have a pretty complete family tree from this branch, as well as copies of Chaffee signatures dating back to the 1600's (Ann, John and Joseph). My grandmother, Alice Chaffee (Bowker) apparently had to document her history for DAR membership. If this is what you're looking for, I'd be happy to share what information I have. I'd also be interested in any more information about the crater on the moon named after a Chaffee, if you have it. My 10-year-old son would be thrilled. I've not logged on to geneology websites before - it's fun to know there are more Chaffee's out there. Hope all's well on your coast - it's turning to autumn here (Vermont)- woodfires and foliage. Regards, Alice (Chaffee Bowker) Dubenetsky
