I suspect that Mariam Chaffee, born about 1807, was left orphaned at an early age and was raised by relatives. She married Hiram Mack and her second son was named Erastus. I think perhaps he was named after a relative named Erastus Chaffee. Please.... does anyone have any info at all about the Chaffee family in either Naples NY or Cayuga county?? Thanks.
