I show no Gerald Thomas Chaffee, or John around 1900, but Hiram Sawyer Chaffee, b1851 married Lany (?) Cummings in 1872, died 1903. Hiram SR re-married, but we don't know her name, she had Hiram Jr, b.1916 and where they moved we don't know, and also, when SR died is ?? Maybe Hiram Jr is part of your line? Good luck.
