I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800.

Note 1 - Without a KNOWN parish, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 35%.

Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database.

Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are ONLY available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome).

For Thomas Quirk B 1802 +/- 4 yrs in Co. Tipperary with the father's forename unknown, I found 1 rcd: 1802, St. Mary's parish, Clonmel. Father's name was Thomas.

For Ann Hackett B 1802 +/- 4 yrs somewhere in Ireland, I found 4 rcds: 1798 ARM, 1802 MEA, 1802 WSM, & 1803 LOU. None of these appear promising.

For Thomas Quirk M 1835 +/- 4 yrs somewhere in Ireland, I found 7 rcds: 1831 KIL, 1834 TIP, 1835 TIP, 1836 GAL, 1836 CRK, & 2-1837 TIP.

For Ann Hackett M ditto, I found 4 rcds: 1832 DUB, 1835 WSM, 1837 KID, & 1838 WSM. None of these match the M rcds for Thomas.

For Elizabeth Quirk B 1839 (exact) in Co. Tipperary, with a father forenamed Thomas, I found 1 rcd for an "Eliza" in Lorra parish, Tipperary.

As you note in your post, the TFHR center controls most of the rcds for Co. Tipperary. It appears you have already commissioned research. Its research over-rides mine. The info I provided above is tangential and inconclusive at best.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
