I tried to e-mail this response but don't know if you received it (I'm having major e-mail problems at the moment). Dear Bernard, WOW! You’ve totally blown me away. I only started my family tree last year and have been doing the tedious St Catherine’s index, purchase birth certificate etc. To take such a leap amazes me. And from Canada, too! Dare I ask where you fit into the tree? And how did you come across all this information. All the genealogy guides tell me to verify my information but I wouldn’t know where to begin! I’m only 99% sure Isabella is my great grandmother. Her name is ‘Isabel’ on her daughter’s birth certificate, Isabell on her own marriage certificate and the ONS death index. The 1901 census and, later, ONS reference, shows ‘Isabella’. But this is the challenge with hunting down the family tree, yes? I thank you again for this information and if you are able to post any photocopies I would receive them appreciatively. I will provide my postal address by e-mail (rather than in this public forum). I will get in touch with Fiona shortly. Fond regards Lisa Holt |
