My father, Ellis Carson, was stationed in Burlington, VT in 1943 with the Army Air Corps. He was there with my mother, their infant daughter (my older sister), and their nanny. I'm not sure how long they were there, but we all remember hearing stories about how cold it was! Could this be the person you are looking for? Joan Carson
