Joanne, I need to know who you John Craig is in this!!! This is my family ~ Uncle Harvey (b. Indian Territory) is my grandmother's brother ~ we descend from a John B Craig, who, according to other researchers, had no male descendents ~ but I have often thought otherwise. He came to TX with a small son, John Craig, who disappeared after the 1860 census. There is a widow of a "John B Craig" (I often thought was my JB's son) who received a Civil War Pension. I have never been able to find John B Craig Sr's will (he was an attorney, so you know there was one!) which might have indicated grandchildren or possibly mentioned that he left nothing to a son...or that he might have given his legacy at the son's marriage ~ it could have been anything. The way this ties to my Carrells: John B Craig m Nancy Young child: Mary Texana Craig m. Harvey Cumming Child: Maud Cumming m. John Carrell (s/o Thomas Carrell & Ruth Belle Enloe) Child: Lois Carrell, my grandmother I will call you... Carol |
