I am a Creel researcher, but have found many Carrels and Carels living almost next door to the Creels and have wondered if there was any connection to the Creels. This is in 1810 - 1830 in Barnwell District, S.C. and in Johnstons County, N.C. before the revolution. Is Carrell a form of Carroll? How is your name pronounced?
Incidently, I found that there were two Carels in the 1609 2nd Virginia Charter for Jamestown. This Charter can be found online. It may help you trace your early Carrells. Have a nice day. Jeanne
