Both James Addison Canon and Ann Canon Smith were the children of John and Martha A. Canon of Mecklenburg, NC. Descendants of both John and Ann named children Addison. Because of this, I believe that Martha A. Canon (inscribed on her tombstone) was actually Martha Addison Canon. There were 10 children. I would be interested in learning if the Addison name is present in any of the other lines of descent. The children of John and Martha A. Canon were Mary Canon Smith, James Canon, Abigail Canon Garrison, Job Canon, Samuel Canon, Ann Canon Smith, John Canon, Benjamin Canon, Joseph Canon, and Martha (Patsy) Canon Wallace.
