On January 19, 1942, the S.S. Lady Hawkins, a Canadian luxury liner, was hit by U-66 and sunk off the coast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. The majority of passengers and crew perished when the vessel sank, including my g-grandfather.
I am going to write a book about the sinking of the Lady Hawkins, and it is difficult to find anything about the people who aboard the ship.
I was wondering if anyone out there may have some information on the passengers and crew, either the deceased or the survivors, that they would be willing to share with me for the purpose of the book. Any photos, stories, and other info would be appreciated, and I would of course credit the people who provide the information.
