Thanks, I did the same thing with the original of the death record - it is Jopling Avenue. Really fascinating the info that you can get from the Canadian records compared to the UK - cause of death, place of burial. I am getting on quite well now with the Canadian side, but tracing the history between 1871 and 1901 is a challenge. Frederick missed the 1871 census, got married in 1876, and is next heard of in Austalia with two children to add to Kathleen, but no mention of Harold, He was not with the rest of the family in the 1901 census, so I am going to concentrate on finding him on his own. His enlistment form for the CEF lists 61/2 years experience with the British army, so that's where I am going to look.
