You didn't mention this census so thought I would give it to you. 1851 census Wolfe Island, Frontenac County, Canada West HITCHCOCK, Thomas, laborer, States, Protestant, 62 Margaret, States, 56 Eliza Lyish, servant, Upper Canada [UC] 14. Eliza is on 1861 census with them as well. 1851 census Wolfe Island HITCHCOCK Samuel, farmer, UC, 29 Elizabeth, UC, 22 Harriet, UC, 5 Thomas, UC, 3 George, UC, 7 1851 census Wolfe Island HITCHCOCK Joseph, farmer, UC, Protestant, 31 Mary, USA, 28 Lenora, UC, 9 Elizabeth, UC, 7 Maryann, UC, 4 Those are all the Hitchcocks on 1851 census on Wolfe Island. census is on www.automatedgenealogy.com Government registration didn't start until 1869 so if they died before that church records would be worth a try.
