Jacynthe, another researcher, sent me a site with the actual entry in the marriage register for this couple.
For anyone else who may have an interest in this marriage, I have done a translation:
<< On the 18th of January 1853, after the publication of banns three times during the sermons at parochial masses, the marriage between Nazaire LaMontagne, farmer, adult child of Joseph LaMontagne and Marie Leclerc of this parish, on the one hand, and Véronique Paquet, the under-age daughter of the late Laurent Paquet and the late Josephte Breton, also from this parish, on the other hand. No impediment having been discovered, we the undersigned pastor, with the consent of Urbain Dion the legal guardian of Véronique Paquet (p.s. - her brother-in-law), did receive their mutual marriage vows, and did give them their nuptual blessing, in the presence of the witnesses Urbain Dion and Joseph LaMontagne, both of whom as well as the spouses did not know how to sign their names.
