August 16, 1921 - January 8, 2012
At Ste. Anne's Veterans Hospital, Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Québec, on Sunday, January 8, 2012, at age 90. Leaves behind his sister, Thérèse, and brother, Jean-Guy; his sons Jean and Pierre (Diana); his grandchildren Katherine (John), Anouck, Maxim, Xavier, Simon and Franois; and his great- grandchildren, Chloé and Annabelle. Predeceased by his daughter, Nicole.
Born in Parent, Québec, Marcel served in the Régiment du Québec from 1939 to 1945 before graduating in law from Laval University in 1948. He was called to the Québec Bar in 1948 and practiced as a litigator for over 50 years in Rouyn-Noranda and Montréal, including over 30 years with Fasken Martineau. He was also bâtonnier du Québec from 1971-1972.
Visitation at Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home, Décarie, Montréal, Thursday, January 11, 2012, and Friday, January 12, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. A memorial service and burial will take place in Québec City at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff of Ste. Anne's Hospital for their great kindness and outstanding care during the final stage of his illness. Donations in his memory to the Foundation of Ste. Anne's Veterans' Hospital would be appreciated.
