Hi again Bob,
It looks like Victor Desautels was the son of Isaie and Marie Desauthel from Roxton, Qc. That is a little village about half-way between St-Hyacinth and Sherbrooke, in the Eastern Townships.
In the 1881 census, the family is enumerated under "Isai Desanthel"
Victor and Marie-Thérèse had several children. When I browsed various data-bases I discovered six kids: Berthe, Edouard, Philip Georges, Mabel Gertrude, Isabelle and Louis Victor. Little Victor (1901 - 1902) lived for only one year. His death notice is recorded under the surname "Desantelo" (it's easy to figure out that that the person transcribing the register mistook the "u" for an "n", and the cursive "s" for an "o")
The mother's name has been recorded a number of different ways: Abair, Abail, Hebert, Thébert.
