John Arthur of St John PEI was my Great Grandfather. My Grandfather, Ross Arthur (Apparently born as Stephen Ross Arthur) moved to Moncton NB where he married Wilhelmina Veinot. They had two sons, Brenton (1916-1996) and Willoughby, Wilhelmina had two other children from previous marriages. Ross and Wilhelmina moved to Somerville, MA USA circa 1930. Ross is believed to have three brothers, there's no information about sisters. His brother John "lived in the Scotch settlement in Sussex/St John" - I presume "Scotch" means "Scottish". Alexander moved in the 1800's to Philadelphia. The other brothers were Andrew and Gilbert. The paper I am reading has notes about relatives in Newfy (Newfoundland?) from Surrey England, and makes some mention of Red Deer, Alberta. Do you recognize any of this? Any suggestions of other resources to be checked? The family tradition is that we are descended from Clan MacArthur which was founded by the descendants of King Arthur, notwithstanding that he had no legitimate descendants in the mythology.
