Hi Here is what I have.... Aylmer Edwin Campbell B. 17/5/1818 ? maybe Scotland or Ireland...immigrated to Australia 1835....prior to this he had spent some time in Indis....he was a mariner....he married Catherine Alexander (Irish) in Sydney 4/3/1839....had several children... John Thomas b-1837 ( our line ) Aylmer Edwin b-1836 Annie b- 1840 Eleanor b-1841 Catherine Charlotte b-1843 Netterville Barton b-1845 Edwin Septimus b-1847 Emma b-1848 Alexander George b-1849 Emma Jessie b- 1851 Believe his parents were John Campbell and Eleanor Sourke and he had at least one brother John Keating Campbell and possibly a James and Septimus and a sister Emma. In Brisbane he was Captain of a boat called The Experiment which went to and from Brisbane and Ipswich. He died in Brisbane 11/1/1854. And this what I have found so far...hope it helps. Would love to confirm parents and place of birth and go further back.Read somewhere his father had a title which Aylmer turned down when he wanted to immigrate but not sure about that. |
